Shared Quiz Guide
Last updated:
A shared quiz turns a completed Classic Quiz into a friendly rematch. The owner’s question set and answer summary are saved, the recipient plays the comparable set, and a result page can compare the two point totals without exposing account credentials.
Create and Send a Link
Finish a Classic Quiz, choose the share action, and send the generated triviatussle.com link through a channel you trust. The link contains a challenge identifier, not the sender’s password or sign-in token.
What the Recipient Sees
Opening the link loads a challenge introduction or the quiz itself. Trivia Tussle can create an anonymous Firebase session when no user is signed in, so a permanent account is not required. The recipient answers the stored question set and submits one completed play.
Expiration and Missing Links
New shared quizzes receive a fourteen-day expiry. After that time, or if a challenge is deleted or malformed, the service returns an expired or not-found state and offers a route back to a fresh game.
Score Comparison
The comparison uses the stored points for each player and can show win, loss, tie, or pending. Per-question correctness and answer review can supply context. A pending result means the required second play or save has not completed yet.
Privacy and Safe Sharing
Anyone with the complete link may be able to open the challenge, so do not place it in a public post if you only intend one friend to use it. A result may show display names and comparative gameplay. Do not use challenge links for tracking, harassment, spam, or misleading redirects.
Report Abuse or a Broken Challenge
Email contacttriviatussle@gmail.com with the full challenge URL, approximate time, device, and a description of the problem. Do not include a password or authentication token.
Shared-Quiz Lifecycle
| State | What is available | Useful next action |
|---|---|---|
| Ready | The saved question set can be opened for the recipient’s play. | Confirm the sender and begin when ready. |
| Pending | One required play or save has not completed. | Wait or retry the failed submission path; do not infer a winner. |
| Complete | Both stored point totals can be compared. | Review the result rows and tie/win/loss outcome. |
| Expired or missing | The identifier cannot open a playable saved challenge. | Ask the sender for a fresh link or choose another mode. |
Worked Comparison
If the owner’s stored total is 460 and the recipient’s is 520, the recipient leads by 60 points. If both totals are 460, the result is a tie even when the players reached that total with different correct-answer counts or speeds. Review rows provide that extra context without changing the points-based outcome.
A pending result has no final comparison yet. Treat it as an incomplete state, not as a loss for the player whose save is missing.
Before You Share
Send a complete challenge link only through a channel appropriate for its audience. Anyone who obtains the link may be able to open the challenge, so avoid public posting when the invitation is meant for one person. Never append passwords, authentication tokens, or private account information to the URL.
